The Chautauqua Annual Exhibition is one of the oldest continuously running juried shows in the country.
This year’s 60th Chautauqua Annual Exhibition of Contemporary Art is a substantially expanded show including 60 works selected by co-jurors Don Kimes, Lois Jubeck and Judy Barie. A Scholar in Residence in the Art and Philosophy seminar at the American Academy in Rome, former Program Director at the NY Studio School, and Director of Studio Art at American University, Kimes has curated several dozen major exhibitions throughout the United States and internationally over four decades. Represented by Denise Bibro Gallery in New York, his work has been included in over 140 exhibitions internationally. As Managing Director of VACI Lois Jubeck has played an instrumental role in building Chautauqua’s art programs. She has also curated many exhibitions there and in New York, Pittsburgh and Florida over three decades. Over the past 30 years Judy Barie has shown extensively in solo exhibitions across the country and has won numerous awards. She divides her time between in Pittsburgh and Chautauqua, where she serves as the Susan and John Turben Director of VACI Galleries, curating numerous exhibitions every year.
