Fred B Adelson

Fred B. Adelson is a professor of art history in the Department of Art at Rowan University, where he has been teaching since 1974. He earned his Ph.D. in Art History from Columbia University, writing his dissertation on Alvan Fisher (1792-1863), the American landscape painter. He has curated several exhibitions and written dozens of articles and museum catalogs on a broad range of topics from Hudson River school landscapes to contemporary shopping bags. From 1997 to 2006, Dr. Adelson was a frequent contributor to the arts section of The New York Times.
